Even Teachers can improve.

Studying in the Master’s in TESOL program at Temple University Japan has been a big step in improving not just my own teaching, but also my students’ learning experiences.

What I really appreciate is how I can take ideas from class—whether it’s about lesson design, classroom interaction, or second language learning—and try them out the very next day with my students. I’ve noticed real changes: smoother lessons, more engaging activities, and students who feel more confident expressing themselves in English.

The program has reminded me that becoming a better teacher is an ongoing process. Every week, I get to test new approaches, reflect on what works, and see my students benefit in real time. It’s motivating to know that while I’m studying, my students are also gaining from the journey.

授業で学んだアイデアを、翌日のクラスですぐに実践できるのがこのプログラムの魅力です。レッスンの組み立て方や、クラスのやりとり、第二言語習得の考え方などを取り入れることで、授業がスムーズになり、活動もより楽しくなり、生徒たちが英語で自信をもって表現できるようになってきました。

「より良い先生になることは、ずっと続くプロセスなんだ」と改めて感じます。毎週、新しい方法を試して振り返り、その成果が生徒たちにすぐ返ってくるのを見るのは本当にやりがいがあります。学びながら教えることが、私自身にとっても生徒たちにとっても大切な成長の時間になっています。
